Long Tail Market?

Luxury [Born in 1980] という記事にコメントしましたが、改行が入らなくて、気持ち悪いので、こっちに。彼の元ネタは、ロングテール市場の富裕層マーケテイングは凄いかも！！ [FPN] です。
まずタイトルに挙げられている Long Tail 市場、と言うのが意味不明ですが、それは枝葉なので置いておくとして…Long Tail を語るには Power Law distribution がないと、と思うんですね。基本中の基本で言うと、我らが Clay を引いてもいいんですが（Power Laws, Weblogs, and Inequality）、纏めるのめんどいんで、日本で読める奴。Long Tail：ビジネスモデルの基本形とは？ [渡辺聡・情報化社会の航海図] 。
物財は店舗置きするとどうしても店頭でお客さんに見せるために置ける種類や量には限界が出る。その点、店舗を持たないECであれば、個々のお客さんに上手く情報を届けられれば展示商品数の限界はない。
本屋の販売を考えてみる。販売数を縦軸にして、多い順に並べると（Power Law Distribution：指数法則分布、指数関数の図に似てるから、だと思うけど…）、こんな図が出来そうでしょ？普通の本屋は売り上げ上位20% くらいが儲かるけど、そっから下は、まず数が限られてるからあまり儲からない。でも Amazon.com では販売数が凄く少ない本の種類というのが普通の本屋より全然凄い。で、長い尻尾（Long Tail）と呼ばれて、そこで Amazon は儲かってるし、生産者（此の場合、著者と出版社含）も嬉しいし、消費者も恩恵に預かれますよ、と。一時期は Long Tail 側の方が儲かってるみたいな噂で、Power to the People だよ、Internet 万歳！みたいな感じだったけど、Bezos の発表を誰かが分析して、やっぱ売り上げトップ〜〜からが儲かるよ、けど Long Tail もバカに出来ないね、とかそんな風に落ち着いた様な。
閑話休題。僕にはその裕福層の Power Law Distribution が全く想像がつきません。仮に縦軸に年収をとって（だって裕福の本質はお金ですからっ!!）、多い順に並べたとして、横軸は何を表すのかねぇ？Tail が長くなりつつあるのは解る気がする。富める人はますます富み、貧しい人はますます…な世の中だと直感的に思います。で、新しくお金持ちになった（そして使い方をしらない）人たちが、必ずその tail 側？ホントに？これも直感だけど、それってどうよ？
無理矢理 Power Law distribution を作ろうと思えば、縦軸を従来マーケテイングからのリーチ力とすれば出来そうだけど、このカーヴの先っちょに focus した新しいマーケティング？？それって普通の SNS とドコが変わるんですか、と。裕福だろうと無かろうと、ニッチマーケティングと言う結果は同じになりそうな気がします。
僕には全くどうでもいいことだけど、著者自身が「この羨望感は Buzzword 使わないことには説明できない！」みたいになっちゃてるのではないかと妄想します。だから例えばタイトルを変えて見ましょう。
旧：ロングテール市場の富裕層マーケテイングは凄いかも！！
新：新富裕層を狙う SNS ベースのニッチマーケテイングは凄い
もすこし sexy にするなら、
超：SNS マーケテイングは新裕福層に波及して凄いことになっている！！
って mixi とか他の SNS との比較があると良さそうな記事になりそうですが、そんなことはありませんかそうですか。
（直感で、というセリフを連発してますので、あまり信用しないこと。あと Clay のも読むとヨイと思うよ）
