いよいよ 2004年も暮れです。とは言っても、もしこれをリアルタイムに読んでいるとしても、日本はもう新年なんですけど。NY ではまだ大晦日の午後７時。１年を振り返るにはまだ十分な時間があります。
まずはごめんなさい。最後のアップデートからなんと２か月。ほったらかしもいい所です。何があったかと言うと、Movable Type が使っていた Berkeley DB のデータベースファイルをぶっ壊してしまったのです。壊れたメカニズムはよくわからないのだけど、何が引き金だったかはわかっています。11月頃、ドメインネーム構造をサービス毎に分けようと思って、かつて Movable Type が置いてあったドメイン (mt.grf-design.com) から新しいドメイン (blogs.grf-design.com) にアプリケーションを移しました。とはいっても、同じマシン上の事（だから別に外側からみればそんな違いは無いんですけど）。新しい domain を自前 DNS に登録して、それからインターフェイスの確認。今までの mt 側からではなく、blogs 側から一回ログインしてみて Ok! 動作正常！って思ったのが大間違いでした。次にログインしようと思ったとき、何を入力してもただ invalid data と出るだけ…おそらく mt.cfg の中で一番最初に設定する CGIPath と言うのがあるのだけど、それが違うのにログインしてしまって…まぁよくわかりません。Berkeley DB を生で叩くツールも試したけど、よくわからず忙しくなって放置でした。今は MySQL 上に新しく構築したので、スピードはどうか知らないけれど、操作の柔軟性はかなり増えました。っていうかこんな便利なら早くすればよかった。
一年を振り返ってみると、何があったのだろう…２つ目の学期の始まり、意欲的に blog 関連技術に取り組んで、恋人に振られて酷く落ち込み、春休みに一時帰国、Java の習得、引越、事故、部屋の整理、キャンプ、３つめの学期、指／足の怪我、11月以降は学校でテンパっちゃって、何があったかよく覚えてないな。ひたすら学校と家の往復だった気がする。
一年前に考えていた程度には新しい技術を習得していると思う。ただそこから先、どうなるのかがまだよくわからない。次の学期には卒業だし、それから先何がしたくて、何が出来るのか。
